Our second webinar : sustainable and circular aquaculture (IMTA)

Learn about a sustainable and circular aquaculture that has...3000 years !

IMTA: Integrated multi-trophic aquaculture.

Our second webinar, which took place on October 1st, 2020, focused on Integrated Multi-trophic Aquaculture (or IMTA). Charlotte Dupont, our Executive Director, introduced us to the history of IMTA which dates back to the Middle Kingdom over 3000 years ago! She also presented us with the avenues for improvement to boost IMTA today, which is too little developed in the West, if we consider its enormous potential for sustainable and circular aquaculture.

Then we had the pleasure of receiving Elisa Ravagnan from NORCE to tell us about the European ASTRAL project in which Bioceanor is involved. This project aims to develop and promote IMTA on the entire Atlantic coast (Europe, Africa, America) and develop intelligent tools to respond to the specific problems of IMTA.
